Riverside Grill in Basalt

The service has gotten a lot better since it was riverside and the food is great.

Aspen menu prices, minus the food quality. $17 for fish & chips - which was 3 small pieces of fish on a side of fries. $16 for a cheeseburger. If you want to grab drinks on the deck in the summer, this is still a good spot, but I certainly won’t eat there again. If you are a local, the old Riverside restaurant was night and day better. The service wasn’t good either. This is a flop.

Worst service ever. Our waiter picked favorites and basically avoided our table. If you decide to go, wear your best clothes like a fur coat and pearls and maybe they’ll actually take care of you (because they think you can give good tips then) When he’d finally come over, he’d apologize but then ignore us again and again. The bun on my burger was burnt. To even get the bill took over an hour just like getting our drinks.

Wish i could give this 0 stars. Walked into an almost empty restaurant, had to seat ourselves, and grab a menu since no one greeted us. Food was burnt and the owner was very rude. Would not recommend.

The food was delicious our waiter Hammed was on point great lunching looking forward to going again.

Slowest service ever! We visited here because it was close to hotel and recommended by front desk at hotel. Unfortuantely it took 20 minutes to get our drinks, and over an hour to get our food! The place was maybe 30% full and we still did not receive the service we should have. We were late to an event because of the lengthy wait time!

The waitress was nice, but it took over an hour to get our food out and there were only 4 tables total.. and honestly $17 for 3 smallish pieces of fish, a few fries (completely unseasoned) , and a mini bowl of coleslaw just wasn't worth it. The food was decent, but way over priced. I wish I liked it more. I didnt complain, but there was also a long blonde hair in my dr.pepper, I have bright colored hair so it wasn't mine. Just took a ridiculous amount of time and over priced.. wouldn't recommend.

Nearly three years ago, I had my first date with the now man of my life. The food is great and we always lean on this spot when family and friends come to town. A must eat in Basalt!

Good food great atmosphere, right on the river. Dinner menu is really good. I highly recommend the meatloaf!

I think the selling point of this restaurant is the location and building. Located right on the Frying Pan River with plenty of patio and outdoor seating. The inside is constructed with large tree trunks and the bar and walls also feature plenty of wooden accents. They also have huge garage door windows on the other side to really open up the place. It's perfect on a warm night with a cool breeze coming off the river. They have a decent happy hour and the staff all seems friendly and inviting. I only had some truffle fries so I can't really speak for the food but the fries were satisfactory.They are also starting a Weekend Brunch from 10am-2pm with breakfast specials and discounts on Mimosas and Bloody Mary's.

Best place to drink after a day of fishing

Awesome spot outside on the river. Highly recommend the Asian and Cajun wings.

Love this place! Not sure what other reviewers are talking about concerning the owner? One of the friendliest guys I’ve met. Highly recommend this place. Best patio in the RFV with great food.

Never ate! Waitress could not have been more rude. Before we were seated she sighed at our request to sit outside. We decided to leave and she laughed at us. No wonder place was empty and has terrible reviews!

Their Trout dish was perfect with the almond bites and green beans!

Also known as Riverside grill, going through a name change, menu is changing also but still delicious food and great service. You can sit inside or by the frying pan river.

Having service industry experience myself, I am appalled at the treatment by the owner of this establishment, Andy. The only good encounter was with the waitress, and the food was okay. But having the owner try to have the last word and call his customers inappropriate names as they leave is ludicrous. I highly suggest passing this place up.

Great spot with a deck overlooking the river. After a great day of catching Trophy fish, its an awesome place to enjoy a tasty beverage.

Amazing views of the river and very cute place. This is a local place that you must go to if you are visiting! Can't wait to come back. There is a very long wait here so don't come on a time crunch. There is only one waitress, but she is doing her absolute best, they just need more people working.

Portions are child size $15 for a salad smaller than that at the gas station next door

The food was delicious. There was no overwhelming menu. You could tell the chef put effort into the dish. Also has a very beautiful deck in back.

Overcharged by $10 and experienced long wait times and mediocre service. Their no splitting checks policy is archaic and cumbersome. (At no point did I try to split the check and it was not the cause of the $10 overcharge)

Great venue, amazing menu, friendly staff. The patio is practically on the river, definitely the spot to be when the weather is nice.

Beware. Burgers and steak had awful smoke flavor, inedible. Overwhelming cigarette smoke smell during dinner. Super slow service. Excellent dessert! Saved the night.

Sat at the bar, the bar tender was very attentive and had drinks and a delicious brunch out to us quickly. Enjoyed a beer on the patio overlooking the river before we left, will definitely be back!

Beautiful view from the patio and delicious food. Great service! We had an awful experience at Tempranillo and left after not being served for 45 minutes. We came to the Tipsy Trout and had a fantastic experience with a delicious trout dinner and beautiful river views!!

I suppose I will give this place another try at some point but the food was overpriced and tasteless. Waiter was awesome.

Our food was amazing and the service was even better, our server, Andrew, was the kindest waiter we have ever had, and deserves recognition and a raise!

Sunday afternoon relatively slow and had to wait about 35 min for overpriced food. Had to ask for the check three times, the service was awful.

I love the service and atmosphere. The burgers and ceasar salad was the very flavorful. I wasn't as impressed with the steak.

Stopped here for lunch with my 1 1/2 year old while the hubs was fishing. I had the fish tacos...delicious... and a grilled cheese for the little one! Great atmosphere, great food and our server Christina was spectacular!

Awesome food and set right on the river which was beautiful, serves were great. Great accommodation for covid-19 freindly. Never would have found this place if it wasn't for our motorcycle guide April from BV Rides, thank you.

Nice location. Pricey for the quality of dishes that comes out of the kitchen. Braised salmon was overcooked to the point it was essentially fish bacon. Stuffed trout was swimming in butter sauce with no taste of the capers. Battered fish was good size portion, and we'll prepared. Dessert portions were smaller than expected. Cheese cake had bananas baked in,when it's advertised as a banana foster sauce. Chocolate lava cake had no lava. Presentation was poor at best; just a sprig of green mint would be nice, or drizzle of chocolate sauce? And yes, the locals go here...sober and drunk. Dogs wandering around begging for scraps add an elegant touch. Save your wallet and your pride....go elsewhere.

Outdoor seating available set next to a lovely river. Indoor seating also available. Food was delicious and service was friendly.
